Brazil 2017 - World Class Academy Quarter 2

Brazil is pretty much at the top of very kitesurfers wish list, famous for warm super flat water with constant wind almost every day and of course the acei and coconuts.

The second quarter of the WCKA school year brought us to Brazil full of excitement for some world class riding, we were not disappointed, we arrived to Cumbuco after long flights and found ourselves at a perfect location, an amazing lagoon and perfect wind for 9m kites almost every day, freestyle heaven! After 4 weeks in Cumbuco the school team packed up and headed to Taiba for the rest of the time, it's hard to decide which location is better, they both provided us with great wind and everyone progressed their riding skills.

My personal goals in Brazil were to get bigger and more consistent with all my tricks, add in some grabs and to land at least one double pass.

Sam Light joined us for a couple of weeks to help us train and give us tips to improve our riding, he convinced me to get even more committed to my blind judge 5, and finally in the last week in Taiba I managed to land it, it's always a buzz to land something new, but the first double pass feels like a really big milestone and opens the door to a new trick set, I can't wait to get to another cool freestyle location to push the limits further, get this trick fully dialed and work on some other double passes.

To finish up the quarter WCKA held the next round of the school competition, this time the 'Kimo Mahmoud Invitational' names after me since I won the first round in Hood River, this time Vetea just beat me to the top of the podium and I had to settle for second place but was happy with my performance.

All in all Brazil lived up to expectations, after 7 weeks the whole team was stoked but tired and ready for Christmas break to relax and recharge batteries before heading to the ultimate big air destination - South Africa.
